History

“The House Theatre gives young performers like me the opportunity to thrive in a professional and supportive environment. You step in those doors, whether it’s for rehearsal or to see a show, and it immediately feels like home.”

– Sam Taylor, THT Performer

The House Theatre was created by Artistic Director and Choreographer, Katrina Brunner. In 2011, Katrina, also a school teacher and director, realized that her graduating high school students still wanted opportunities to perform during their summer breaks of college. The House Theatre quickly became a creative home for kids who had grown up in the Madison area. With each year, THT has continued to expand its opportunities for all ages. It not only offers professional performance experiences, it also is deeply committed to hands-on education for all involved.

The House Theatre has won numerous awards and accolades for their various productions.
